WHEREAS, MDHA has awarded a subrecipient agreement in an amount not to exceed $250,000.00 with no match required to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Office of Homeless Services, for one-time payments of first month’s rent and security/utility deposits on behalf of homeless persons obtaining housing through various campaigns; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the subrecipient agreement be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the subrecipient agreement by and between the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (MDHA), in an amount not to exceed $250,000.00, and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Office of Homeless Services, for one-time payments of first month’s rent and security/utility deposits on behalf of homeless persons obtaining housing through various campaigns, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That the amount of this subrecipient agreement be appropriated to the Metropolitan Office of Homeless Services, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves a subrecipient grant agreement between the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (MDHA) to the Metropolitan Office of Homeless Services for one-time payments of the first month’s rent and security/utility deposits on behalf of persons experiencing homelessness.
The grant amount shall not exceed $250,000. MDHA has allocated this funding from its federal community development block grant (“CDBG”) funds. The total payment for each client shall not exceed $2,000.
The term of the grant would begin when the agreement is filed with the Metropolitan Clerk and end on June 30, 2026, or upon the expiration of grant funding, whichever is later. MDHA may extend the agreement one year until the expiration of grant funding.
