WHEREAS, Section 7-3-314 of the Tennessee Code Annotated states that metropolitan forms of government may provide financial assistance to nonprofit organizations in accordance with the guidelines of the Metropolitan Government; and,

WHEREAS, Section 5.04.070 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws provides that the Council may, by Resolution, appropriate funds for the financial aid of nonprofit organizations; and,

WHEREAS, the Library has accepted applications from non-profit organizations to receive funding from the Nashville After Zone Alliance coordinating system for the provision of free and high-quality afterschool and summer programming; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these funds be appropriated to these nonprofit organizations.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     There is hereby appropriated Thirty Three Thousand Three Hundred Ninety Dollars and Forty Cents ($33,390.40) from the Public Library to An Array of Charm Camps for Youth Development for the provision of summer programming to youth for rising 5th-9^th graders in June 2024.

Section 2.                       The Metropolitan Government is hereby authorized to enter into a grant contract,  attached hereto and incorporated herein, with An Array of Charm Camps for Youth Development for the amount provided herein and the purposes stated.  Such contracts shall specify the terms and conditions under which the grant funds are to be spent.

Section 3                     That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution appropriates a total of $33,390.40 from the Nashville Public Library to An Array of Charm Camps for Youth Development to provide free and high-quality afterschool programming through Nashville Public Library’s Nashville After Zone Alliance (“NAZA”) program.

Pursuant to the grant agreement, An Array of Charm Camps for Youth Development will provide summer programming to youth for rising 5^th through 9^th graders Monday through Friday during the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools summer break. The programs will run at least four weeks at a minimum of four hours per day. The term of this grant begins May 1, 2024, and ends June 30, 2024.
