WHEREAS, Metropolitan Charter Section 10.104 provides that the Board of Health has the duty to contract for such services as will further the program and policies of the board, subject to confirmation by Resolution of Council; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, wishes to contract with the Martha O’Bryan Center to operate a mobile unit to provide services to current and potential Women Infants & Children (WIC) Program recipients; and,  

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this contract be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That the contract by and between the Martha O’Bryan Center and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to operate a mobile unit to provide services to current and potential Women Infants & Children (WIC) Program recipients, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.  

 Section 2.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves a contract between the Metropolitan Board of Health and the Martha O’Bryan Center to operate a mobile unit to provide services to current and potential Women, Infants & Children (“WIC”) Program recipients.

 

Pursuant to the agreement, the Martha O’Bryan Center agrees to distribute information about marketing or outreach for the nutrition and family programs, provide WIC staff with adequate parking and physical space to conduct classes for current and potential WIC recipients, to provide on-site storage for program materials, and to work in full collaboration with Metro Health staff regarding print or media coverage. Metro Health agrees to restrict use of disclosure of information received from applicants, provide professional WIC staff, provide services at the hours and days mutually agreed upon, comply with all relevant rules and regulations, and be responsible for directing and supervising officers, agents, or employees in performance of this agreement.

 

This contract will begin on June 1, 2022 and end on May 31, 2027.

 

Fiscal Note: There is no cost to Metro for the performance of services under this agreement.
