A resolution to approve a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") entered into by and between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ("ATF") and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, to develop and implement crime gun intelligence driven strategy between the agencies to reduce and combat gun related violence in the Nashville Metropolitan area.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, has entered into a MOU with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF); and,
WHEREAS, participation in this partnership agreement will allow the ATF Violent Crime Task Force and the MNPD Major Crimes to combine efforts and resources to work in tandem to investigate, prosecute, and remove armed criminals from Nashville; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement by and between the ATF and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the MNPD, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
