A resolution approving amendment one to a grant agreement between the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT), for a Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) Grant to install LiDAR and video camera technologies at key intersections and mid-block segments for "near-miss" data collection.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT), previously entered into a grant agreement with the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) to install LiDAR and video camera technologies at key intersections and mid-block segments for "near-miss" data collection, approved by RS2023-2382; and,
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to extend the end date from February 15, 2025 to August 15, 2025, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one to this grant agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That amendment one to the grant agreement by and between the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT), to install LiDAR and video camera technologies at key intersections and mid-block segments for "near-miss" data collection, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
