An ordinance granting the Purchasing Agent the authority to extend the term of contract number 459172 between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, through the Department of Water and Sewerage Services, and CDM Smith.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, through the Department of Water and Sewerage Services, entered into a contract with CDM Smith for design solutions and services, drawings, construction documents, cost estimating, scheduling services, and construction phase services for reservoir improvements at various Metro sites, for a term of sixty (60) months; and,
WHEREAS, section 4.12.160(A) of the Metropolitan Code limits the term of contracts for services to sixty (60) months, unless otherwise authorized by the Metropolitan Council; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent and the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services have recommended that contract number 459172 be extended until project completion; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government for the Purchasing Agent to have the option to extend the term of contract number 459172.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to extend contract number 459172 until project completion, if the Purchasing Agent determines that such extension is in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
