A resolution amending Resolution RS2022-1905 to extend Fisk University's time to complete the physical buildout of Burrus Hall and to permit the use of $500,000 of the previously appropriated American Rescue Plan Funds for personnel and employee benefits.

WHEREAS, Resolution RS2022-1905 approved the appropriation of $10,000,000 to Fisk University for renovation and upgrading to Burrus Hall to establish a small business entrepreneurship and innovation facility; and,
WHEREAS, Exhibit A to RS2022-1905 estimated the time of completion of the physical buildout of Burrus Hall between 12 and 18 months; and,
WHEREAS, Fisk University has requested through December 31, 2025 to complete the physical buildout of Burrus Hall; and,
WHEREAS, Fisk has requested that $500,000 of the previously appropriated $10,000,000 be used for personnel and employee benefits; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this resolution be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council accepts this resolution as a recommendation of the COVID-19 Financial Oversight Committee.
Section 2. That Resolution RS2022-1905 is hereby amended by amending Exhibit A, to extend the time to complete the physical buildout of Burrus Hall through December 31, 2025.
Section 3. That Resolution RS2022-1905 is hereby amended to permit the use of $500,000 of the $10,000,000 appropriated by RS2022-1905 for personnel and employee benefits.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of the public requiring it.
