WHEREAS, on January 4, 2022, the Metropolitan Council adopted Resolution No. RS2022-1307, which appropriated $1,060,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds from Fund #30216 to the Community Safety Partnership Fund to support evidence-based community solutions to interpersonal violence; and

WHEREAS, in RS2022-1307, funds were allocated to the Cure Violence Pilot in North Nashville through the Community Safety Partnership Fund, to meet reporting and monitoring requirements for the allocation of grants to nonprofit organizations, and to make it possible for the Community Safety Coordinator to bring researchers to Nashville in early 2022 to share findings with community leaders, with the goal of developing a community-driven action plan to reduce and prevent gun violence that connect individuals involved with gun violence to programs and services; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has determined that RS2022-1307 should be amended to allow for the use of funds for violence interruption services generally, instead of strictly for the Cure Violence model; and

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this resolution be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Section 2 of Resolution No. RS2022-1307 is hereby amended by replacing Exhibit A to the resolution with the Exhibit A attached to this resolution.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of the public requiring it.
