A resolution recognizing the Hillsboro High School Girls Flag Football Team on winning the 2023 Championship in the Inaugural Season.

WHEREAS, the Tennessee Titans, in partnership with Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS), hosted the Inaugural Season of Girls Flag Football this year; and

WHEREAS, 15 MNPS High Schools and 400 high school girls participated in the Inaugural Season of Flag Football; and

WHEREAS, each team competed for five weeks, playing two contests per week in order to qualify for play in the Championship Series; and

WHEREAS, the Hillsboro High School Flag Football Team qualified with a 9 - 1 record to compete in the Championship Series; and

WHEREAS, the Hillsboro High School Flag Football Team successfully competed in the Championship playoff, culminating in winning the 2023 "Inaugural Flag Football" Championship; and

WHEREAS, the team handily won with an incredible 26 - 0 round 1 match, and a 7 - 0 win in the final match, setting the standard for championship play; and

WHEREAS, the Hillsboro High School Girls Flag Football Team Coaches are Head Coach Maurice Fitzgerald, Assistant Coach Scott Davis, and Coach Cecilia Adams; and

WHEREAS, the 2023 Championship team members are Kamryn Miller, Sasha Asadoruian, Maeve Kennedy, Kamil Washum, Maila Beddingfield, Stephanie Onaghinor, Abigail Amare, Sophia Zheng, Khaniya Neal, Amariya Hill, Lauren Swett, Ahlyndia Lee, Chloe Gordon, Taeya Burton, Margo Jenkins, Carmen Bryan, Lee Taylor, Olivia Armstrong, Edriana Johnson, Aniyah Osteen, Journey Thomas, and Zoe McCord; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council congratulates the Hillsboro High School Girls Flag Football Team and Coaches on their incredible inaugural season and championship win, and recognizes their dedication and hard work, on and off the field.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
