WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council previously enacted Resolution RS2021-1284 which approved the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Water and Sewerage Services, to accept from the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency ("TEMA"), an awarded Hazard Mitigation Grant in an amount not to exceed $1,005,939.38 and a required cash match of $143,705.62 for the acquisition and demolition of seven houses located in various floodways/floodplains in Davidson County; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council previously enacted Resolution RS2023-2079 which approved an overrun request increasing the amount awarded not to exceed $1,544,747.40 and a required cash match of $220,678.20; and,
WHEREAS, TEMA did not execute RS2023-2079 prior to the contract expiration; and,
WHEREAS, to allow for the reimbursement of the previously awarded funds, TEMA has awarded a Hazard Mitigation Grant in an amount awarded not to exceed $709,592.54 and a required cash match of $101,370.36, these amounts representing the balance of funding approved in RS2021-1284 and RS2023-2079; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
