WHEREAS, the abandonment of approximately 514 linear feet of existing 12-inch water main (DIP), and the acceptance of approximately 514 linear feet of new 24-inch water main (DIP) and replacement of two existing fire hydrant assemblies, for property located at 1 Terminal Drive, also known as Terminal Drive Water Main Project, are needed to construct project number 23-WL-31; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2023M-091ES-001 on May 31, 2023, for the abandonment and acceptance of said water mains and fire hydrant assemblies.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to abandon approximately 514 linear feet of existing 12-inch water main (DIP), and to accept 514 linear feet of new 24-inch water main (DIP) and replacement of two existing fire hydrant assemblies, for property located at 1 Terminal Drive, also known as Terminal Drive Water Main Project, as shown on Exhibit 1, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference.

Section 2.                     The Directors of Water and Sewerage Services and Public Property Administration are authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the abandonment and acceptance authorized by this ordinance.

Section 3.                     Amendments to this legislation shall be approved by resolution.

Section 4.                     This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Future amendments to this legislation may be approved by resolution. This ordinance has been approved by the Planning Commission.

 

Fiscal Note: This ordinance has no cost to Metro. Abandoned and donated easements have no market value according to the Department of Water Services.
