WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, previously entered into a grant agreement with A Step Ahead Foundation of Middle Tennessee, Inc. to provide reimbursement for certain costs associated with providing long-acting reversible contraception approved by RS2021-1243 and later amended by RS2022-1772; and,  

WHEREAS, amendment two adds additional terms and conditions to the grant agreement, a copy of which amendment two is attached hereto; and,      

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendments two be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That amendment two to the grant by and between A Step Ahead Foundation of Middle Tennessee, Inc. and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to provide reimbursement for certain costs associated with providing long-acting reversible contraception, a copy of which amendment two is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same. 

Section 2.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves amendment two to a grant from A Step Ahead Foundation of Middle Tennessee, Inc. to the Metropolitan Board of Health, previously approved by Resolution No. RS2021-1243 and amended by RS2022-1772. This grant provides reimbursement for certain costs associated with providing long-acting reversible contraception. The total grant award is $270,000 and the grant end date is December 31, 2024.

 

This amendment adds additional terms and conditions to the grant contract. The responsibilities of each party will remain the same, except that new mutual responsibilities would be added to the contract related to compliance with federal law and joint review of the contract. Provisions related to conflicts of interest, lobbying, public accountability, public notice, and keeping of records would be added to the contract.
