WHEREAS, Section 7-3-314 of the Tennessee Code Annotated states that metropolitan forms of government may provide financial assistance to nonprofit organizations; and,

WHEREAS, Section 5.04.070 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws provides that the Council may, by Resolution, appropriate funds for the financial aid of nonprofit organizations; and,

WHEREAS, the Mayor's Office has recommended that a total of $169,000.00 of the funds appropriated for community safety grants in the Budget Ordinance (Substitute BL2022-1248), be distributed to the specific nonprofit organizations named below; and,

WHEREAS, the grants will be utilized for services pertaining to South Nashville Community Safety programs; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these funds be appropriated to the specified nonprofit organizations.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. There is hereby appropriated a total of $169,000.00 from Fund No. 30164 to nonprofit organizations as follows:

a) $48,000.00 to F.I.N.D. Design, Inc. to provide services pertaining to South Nashville Community Safety programs; and,

b) $48,000.00 to Water Walkers to provide services pertaining to South Nashville Community Safety programs; and,

c) $25,000.00 to You Have the Power...Know How to Use It, Inc. to provide services pertaining to South Nashville Community Safety programs; and,

d) $48,000.00 to Youth Encouragement Services, Inc. to provide services pertaining to South Nashville Community Safety programs.
