WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library, previously entered into a grant agreement with the Nashville Public Library Foundation to fund education and literacy programs to provide literacy initiatives that emphasize the importance of developing literacy skills by educating teachers, children, and parents approved by RS2022-1718; and,
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $21,200.00 from $421,400.00 to $442,600.00, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That amendment one to the grant by and between the Nashville Public Library Foundation, in an amount not to exceed $21,200.00, to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library, to fund education and literacy programs to provide literacy initiatives that emphasize the importance of developing literacy skills by educating teachers, children, and parents, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
