WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library, previously entered into a grant agreement with the Tennessee State Library and Archives to provide access to and circulation of special materials formatted for individuals who are hearing impaired approved by RS2022-1571; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to delete Attachment One in its entirety and replace it with a new Attachment One which moves $13,500.00 from the expense object line-item category of Supplies, Telephone, Postage, etc. to the expense object line-item category of Professional Fee, Grant & Award for the new balances of $12,000.00 and $71,000.00, respectively, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That amendment one to the grant by and between the Tennessee State Library and Archives and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library, to provide access to and circulation of special materials formatted for individuals who are hearing impaired, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves amendment one to a grant from the Tennessee State Library and Archives to the Nashville Public Library, originally approved by RS2022-1571. This grant is used to provide access to and circulation of special materials formatted for individuals who are hearing impaired, provide programming to the deaf and hard of hearing, and promote general support of library patrons who are aurally challenged. The grant award is an amount not to exceed $88,000 with no cash match required. The term of the grant contract is July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.

 

The amendment moves $13,500 funding from the expense object line-item category of Supplies, Telephone, Postage and Shipping to the expense object line-item category of Professional Fee, Grant & Award. There are no other changes to the grant terms.
