WHEREAS, the abandonment of approximately 2,630 linear feet of existing 2.25-inch water main, approximately 1,366 linear feet of existing four-inch water main, approximately 1,385 linear feet of existing eight inch water main, three fire hydrant assemblies and easements, and the acceptance of approximately 48 linear feet of new four-inch water main (DIP), approximately 3,728 linear feet of new eight-inch water main (DIP), approximately 6,133 linear feet of new 12-inch water main (DIP), 14 fire hydrant assemblies, replacement of three fire hydrant assemblies and easements, at six properties located on Knight Drive, Tisdall Drive, Green Lane, and Brick Church Lane, off-site of the project location at 420 Green Lane and Tisdall Drive (unnumbered), also known as Ridgecrest at Vista Phase 2, are needed to construct project number 22-WL-84; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2022M-192ES-002 on February 16, 2023, for the abandonment and acceptance of said water mains, fire hydrant assemblies, and easements.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to abandon approximately 2,630 linear feet of existing 2.25-inch water main, approximately 1,366 linear feet of existing four-inch water main, approximately 1,385 linear feet of existing eight inch water main, three fire hydrant assemblies and easements, and to accept approximately 48 linear feet of new four-inch water main (DIP), approximately 3,728 linear feet of new eight-inch water main (DIP), approximately 6,133 linear feet of new 12-inch water main (DIP), 14 fire hydrant assemblies, replacement of three fire hydrant assemblies and easements, at six properties located at Knight Drive, Tisdall Drive, Green Lane, and Brick Church Lane, off-site of the project location at 420 Green Lane and Tisdall Drive (unnumbered), also known as Ridgecrest at Vista Phase 2, as shown on Exhibits 1 and 2, which are attached hereto and incorporated by reference.

Section 2.                     The Directors of Water and Sewerage Services and Public Property Administration are authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary and appropriate to carry out the abandonment and acceptance authorized by this ordinance.

Section 3.                     Amendments to this legislation shall be approved by resolution.

Section 4.                     This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Future amendments to this legislation may be approved by resolution. This ordinance has been approved by the Planning Commission.

 

Fiscal Note: This ordinance has no cost to Metro. Abandoned and Donated easements have no market value according to the Department of Water Services.
