WHEREAS, BL2021-743 approved an agreement (the "Agreement") for the Metropolitan Government to sell to Piedmont Natural Gas Company, Inc. ("Piedmont") a parcel of property and improvements (collectively, the "Property") located at 800 Second Avenue North, currently used for Metropolitan Government offices; and,

WHEREAS, RS2022-1528 approved an amendment to the Agreement extending the time for closing the sale of the Property; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of the agreement (“Easement Agreement”) attached as Exhibit 1 to this resolution, the Metropolitan Government proposes to grant a utility easement on the Property to the Electric Power Board of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County; and,

WHEREAS, as shown by its execution of the Easement Agreement, Piedmont has consented to the proposed easement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL FOR THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                      The proposed Easement Agreement is approved, and the Director of Public Property Administration is authorized to execute it on behalf of the Metropolitan Government.

Section 2.                      This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government requiring it.

This resolution approves an electric utility agreement between the Electric Power Board of the Metropolitan Government and the Metropolitan Government. The Electric Power Board is also known by the service name Nashville Electric Service.

 

The Council approved an agreement for the Metropolitan Government to sell to Piedmont Natural Gas Company, Inc. a parcel of property and improvements located at 800 Second Avenue North, pursuant to Ordinance No. BL2021-743. An amendment to the agreement extending the time for closing the sale of the property was approved pursuant to Resolution No. RS2022-1528.

 

The Metropolitan Government proposes to grant a utility easement on the property at 800 Second Avenue North to the Electric Power Board of the Metropolitan Government. The easement would be six feet-wide by 280 feet.

 

Fiscal Note: Metro will receive $25,200 from Nashville Electric Service for the permanent 6 feet by 280 feet utility easement located along the eastern right-of-way margin of 2nd Avenue North and south of Stockyard Street.
