WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County owns certain real property located at 5224 Hickory Hollow Parkway, Nashville, TN (Parcel No. 16300022100); and,

WHEREAS, the Department of Safety and Homeland Security desires to use 50 parking spaces on the site; and,

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the Department of Safety and Homeland Security have negotiated the license agreement attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit 1; and,

WHEREAS, this resolution has been mandatorily referred to the Planning Commission pursuant to Section 11.505 of the Metropolitan Charter and has been assigned Proposal No. 2023M-008AG-01, which has been administratively reviewed and recommended for approval; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That the License Agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the Department of Safety and Homeland Security attached hereto as Exhibit 1, is hereby approved and the Director of Public Property Administration, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute the same.

Section 2.                       This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves an intergovernmental license agreement between the Metropolitan Department of General Services and the Tennessee Department of Homeland Security for parking spaces located at 5224 Hickory Hollow Parkway.

 

The Tennessee Department of Homeland Security, which operates a driver services and reinstatement center located at 5216 Hickory Hollow Parkway, desires to use 50 parking spaces at 5224 Hickory Hollow Parkway. Pursuant to the license agreement, the Metropolitan Government will lease 50 spaces to the Tennessee Department of Homeland Security beginning February 1, 2023 and ending January 30, 2025 for a monthly fee of $1,500. The license agreement may be terminated by either party at any time for any reason upon 60 days written notice to the other party.

 

Fiscal Note: Metro will receive $1,500 per month from the Department of Safety and Homeland Security for the 50 assigned parking spaces, which equals a monthly rate of $30 per space. Metro is responsible for maintenance of the assigned spaces. The total amount Metro will receive over life of the agreement is $36,000.
