A resolution recognizing the team representing Nashville in the 2023 Gov Games in Dubai.

WHEREAS, Gov Games, launched in 2018 in Dubai, is a celebration of teamwork, sportsmanship, and diversity that features a series of physical and mental challenges for competing teams. The newly introduced category, Battle of the Cities, will include teams from twenty-eight major cities worldwide competing to win the Gov Games title; and
WHEREAS, a team of six athletes has been training under the leadership of Streat Hoerner, an elite level crossfit athlete and ambassador for fitness in the Nashville area, who works out at Crossfit East Nashville, leads group workouts near the State Capitol, is involved in his north Nashville neighborhood, and has a strong social media presence that displays all the great things Nashville has to offer; and
WHEREAS, this Nashville team, consisting of Streat Hoerner, Will Moorad, Noah Ohlsen, Travis Mayer, Chandler Smith, and Luke Schafer has worked hard to qualify for the finals event on March 2-5, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the team pledges to represent Nashville well in the Gov Games.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on records as officially recognizing the team representing the city of Nashville at the 2023 Gov Games and sending best wishes for a safe and successful competition.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
