WHEREAS, the Lakeshore Christian Church congregation began in 1974; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Randall (Randy) Cordell and his family came to serve with Lakeshore on March 3, 1991; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Cordell graduated from Atlanta Christian College (now Point University) in 1980 and also studied at the University of Georgia, West Georgia College, and The Beeson Institute for Advanced Church Leadership; and

WHEREAS, prior to his service at Lakeshore Christian, Pastor Cordell served churches in Alabama and Georgia; and

WHEREAS, during Pastor Cordell's 30-plus years of leadership, the Lakeshore Christian Antioch congregation experienced tremendous growth from his initial service of 46 worshippers in 1991; and,

WHEREAS, the original church building, located on Anderson Road, expanded three separate times until no further growth was possible. By 2007, the congregation totaled approximately 400 and the need for more physical space sparked a search for a new property; and

WHEREAS, the congregation purchased 7.75 acres of land on Bell Forge Lane East in Antioch, and after extensive property renovation, the first service was held on Easter Sunday in 2009; and

WHEREAS, further congregation growth created the need for a second campus, which was opened in Smyrna, Tennessee in 2018; and

WHEREAS, through Pastor Cordell's leadership, the Lakeshore Ministry has baptized more than 1,000 believers into Christ, and developed 14 Ministers who have been called to serve other congregations all over the country including Idaho, Oregon, Illinois, Iowa, Oklahoma, Indiana, Kentucky, and many in here in Tennessee; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Cordell has consistently dedicated his time and energy to the community, opening his doors to help with food and clothing drives after the 2020 tornado, during the COVID-19 pandemic, and most recently during the 2022 holiday power outages; and
