A resolution approving an agreement between the United States Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration ("DEA"), and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department ("MNPD"), pertaining to the DEA Middle Tennessee Drug and Violent Crime Appalachia Task Force.

WHEREAS, the DEA Middle Tennessee Drug and Violent Crime Appalachia Task Force ("Task Force") will perform activities and duties to eliminate or reduce drug trafficking; and,
WHEREAS, the agreement attached hereto and incorporated herein provides the terms for MNPD's cooperation with the Task Force; and,
WHEREAS, MNPD will assign two experienced officers to the Task Force; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the agreement by and between the United States Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, pertaining to the DEA Middle Tennessee Drug and Violent Crime Appalachia Task Force, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
