WHEREAS, Meritage Homes of Tennessee, Inc. owns property consisting of 9.53 acres in Davidson County located at 1209 Tulip Grove Road (Map and Parcel Nos. 08600034800, 08600032700, and 08600011300) (the “Property”), described in Exhibit 1, attached hereto and incorporated herein,

WHEREAS, Meritage Homes of Tennessee, Inc. proposes to donate the Property to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the benefit of Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Nashville Board of Education recommends acceptance of the donation of the Property; and,

WHEREAS, acceptance of the donation of the Property will benefit the citizens of Davidson County by enhancing the availability of educational opportunities in Davidson County.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

Section 1. The Director of Public Property Administration, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary to effectuate the donation of the Property described in Exhibit 1, attached hereto, from Meritage Homes of Tennessee, Inc. to the Metropolitan Government for the use and benefit of Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools.

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This ordinance accepts the donation of real property located at 1209 Tulip Grove Road, 1213 Tulip Grove Road, and 0 Tulip Grove Road. Meritage Homes of Tennessee, Inc. owns these 9.53 aces and proposes to donate the property to the Metropolitan Government for the benefit of Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. The Metropolitan Nashville Board of Education recommends acceptance of this donation. This has been approved by the Planning Commission.

 

Fiscal Note: The total land area for the three parcels is 21.69 acres and the total appraised value for the three parcels is $1,489,100 according to the Property Assessor’s website.
