WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County owns certain real property located at 5244 Hickory Hollow Parkway, Nashville, TN (Parcel No. 16300022100); and,

WHEREAS, the Salvation Army desires to operate an Angel Tree Warehouse on the first floor of the building; and,

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the Salvation Army have negotiated the license agreement attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit 1; and,

WHEREAS, this ordinance has been mandatorily referred to the Planning Commission pursuant to Section 11.505 of the Metropolitan Charter and has been assigned Proposal No. 2022M-034AG-001, which has been administratively reviewed and recommended for approval; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That the License Agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the Salvation Army attached hereto as Exhibit 1, is hereby approved and the Director of Public Property Administration, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute the same.

Section 2.                      That any amendment to this lease agreement shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving at least twenty-one (21) affirmative votes.

Section 3.                       This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This ordinance, as substituted, approves a license agreement between the Metropolitan Government and the Salvation Army for use of storage space located at 5244 Hickory Hollow Parkway, also known as Global Mall.

 

Salvation Army desires to operate an Angel Tree Warehouse on the first floor of the Bridgestone Building. Pursuant to the agreement, the Metropolitan Government would provide this space to Salvation Army at no charge. The term of this agreement begins November 1, 2022 and ends January 15, 2023.

 

A substitute added at the October 4, 2022 meeting corrected the address.

 

This has been approved by the Planning Commission. Future amendments to this lease agreement may be approved by a resolution receiving at least 21 affirmative votes.
