WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Action Commission, previously entered into a grant agreement with The Kresge Foundation, for the MAC4Jobs (Making a Change for Jobs) project to expand opportunities in America’s cities through grant making and social investing approved by RS2019-1884; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $200,000.00 for a new grant total of $720,000.00 with no cash match required and to extend the grant end date to July 31, 2023, a copy of which amendment three is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Action Commission has accepted amendment three to this grant, attached hereto and incorporated herein, pursuant to its authority under Metro Code Section 2.108.050; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these funds be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That the funds from amendment three to the grant by and between The Kresge Foundation, to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Action Commission, for the MAC4Jobs (Making a Change for Jobs) project to expand opportunities in America’s cities through grant making and social investing, a copy of which amendment three is attached hereto and incorporated herein, be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission.

Section 2.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves amendment three to a grant approved by Resolution No. RS2019-1884 from The Kresge Foundation to Metropolitan Action Commission. This grant is for the MAC4Jobs (Making a Change for Jobs) project to expand opportunities in America’s cities through grant making and social investing.

 

RS2019-1884 approved a grant in the amount of $500,000 and with an original grant period from August 1, 2019 through November 30, 2021. Amendment 1, approved by RS2020-556, increased the grant amount by $10,000. Amendment 2 increased the grant amount by $10,000 and extended the end date of the agreement to December 31, 2021. Amendment 2 was approved through the Fiscal Year 2022 budget and did not require separate Council approval.

 

The resolution under consideration approves Amendment 3. This amendment would increase the grant amount by $200,000, from $520,000 to $720,000, with no cash match required and extends the grant end date to July 31, 2023.
