A resolution approving a grant application to provide meals that meet RDA nutritional guidelines to eligible seniors in their homes and in congregate meal sites throughout Davidson County from the Greater Nashville Regional Council to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission.

WHEREAS, the Greater Nashville Regional Council is accepting grant applications to provide meals that meet RDA nutritional guidelines to eligible seniors in their homes and in congregate meal sites throughout Davidson County with an award of $1,100,000.00 with a required cash match of $709,600.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the grant application of the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission, to the Greater Nashville Regional Council, to provide meals that meet RDA nutritional guidelines to eligible seniors in their homes and in congregate meal sites throughout Davidson County, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
