Whereas, Resolution RS2022-1310 appropriated $300,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds from Fund #30216 to the Metropolitan Development and Housing Authority to fund the Napier-Sudekum Community Safety Plan; and,

WHEREAS, the Mayor’s Office recommends that $100,000 of the funds previously appropriated in Resolution RS2022-1310 be transferred to fund the Napier-Sudekum Community Safety Plan, as further described in Exhibit A, as follows: (i) to the Metropolitan Nashville Parks Department to provide facilities upgrades and additional resources for youth programing at the Napier Community Center; (ii) to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department for the expansion of the Napier-Sudekum Community Engagement Budget; and (iii) to the Nashville Public Library for equipment and additional programing at the Pruitt Library Branch; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this resolution be approved.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1.                     That Resolution RS2022-1310 which appropriated $300,000.00 from the Covid-19 American Rescue Plan Fund #30216 to the Metropolitan Development and Housing Authority is hereby amended as provided in Section 2.

Section 2.                     That $100,000.00 of the funds previously appropriated to the Metropolitan Development and Housing Authority in Resolution RS2022-1310 from the Covid-19 American Rescue Plan Fund #30216 are hereby appropriated and transferred as follows:

(a)                     $60,000 to the Metropolitan Department of Parks and Recreation for use for Napier Community Center Improvement, as described in Exhibit A;

(b)                     $30,000 to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department for the expansion of the Napier-Sudekum Community Engagement Budget, as described in Exhibit A; and

(c)                     $10,000 to the Metropolitan Nashville Public Library, Pruitt Branch, for equipment and additional programming, as described in Exhibit A.

Section 3.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution amends Resolution No. RS2022-1310, which appropriated $300,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (“ARP”) funds to the Metropolitan Development and Housing Authority to fund the Napier-Sudekum Community Safety Plan. RS2022-1310 was adopted by the Council on January 4, 2022.

 

The Mayor’s Office has recommended using $100,000 of the funds previously appropriated pursuant to RS2022-1310 for other purposes. The resolution under consideration transfers $100,000 of those funds to as follows:

                     $60,000 to the Metropolitan Nashville Parks Department to provide facility upgrades and additional resources for youth programming at the Napier Community Center;

                     $30,000 to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department for the expansion of the Napier-Sudekum Community Engagement Budget; and

                     $10,000 to the Nashville Public Library for equipment and additional programing at the Pruitt Library Branch.
