WHEREAS, RS2021-1158 approved an application for Federal COVID Relief Funds for Transportation Improvements grant from the Greater Nashville Regional Council, with an award amount of $1,145,000 and no cash match required, for pedestrian safety and multimodal intersection improvements; and,
WHEREAS, TDOT Agreement 220057, attached hereto as Exhibit A, provides a reduced grant amount not to exceed $840,980.00, with a required cash match of $304,020.00 from the Metropolitan Government, for the total project cost of $1,145,000 for pedestrian safety and multimodal intersection improvements at various locations; and,
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 12-9-104(a)(2)(b), authorizes the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to enter into intergovernmental agreements with the State of Tennessee; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Federal COVID Relief Funds for Transportation Improvements grant, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby accepted and approved.
