A resolution accepting a donation from the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Planning Commission, to provide supplemental funding for a music venue study

WHEREAS, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce wishes to make a donation to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Planning Commission, for the use and benefit of a study of independent music venues; and,
WHEREAS, a copy of the donation letter is attached hereto and incorporated herein, as set forth in Exhibit 1; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Metropolitan Code of Laws ? 5.04.120(B), donations exceeding $5,000 may be accepted and appropriated pursuant to Resolution; and,
WHEREAS, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce has a stated purpose to "create economic prosperity by facilitating community leadership" on its website at https://www.nashvillechamber.com/about, and is led by a Board of Directors, including President Ralph Schulz; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this donation be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the donation by the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce of thirty thousand dollars ($30,000.00) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Planning Commission, for the use and benefit of a study of independent music venues, pursuant to the donation documentation, as shown on Exhibit 1, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That these funds are hereby appropriated to the Metropolitan Nashville Planning Commission for the use and benefit of a study of independent music venues.
