A resolution approving amendment three to a grant from the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, to provide community-based case management and probation services to children at high risk of state custody.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, previously entered into a grant contract with the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services to provide community-based case management and probation services to children at high risk of state custody approved by RS2018-1224; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant contract to increase the amount of the grant by $434,333.00 from $1,737,332.00 to $2,171,665.00 with no cash match required and to extend the end date of the grant to June 30, 2023, a copy of which amendment three is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment three be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That amendment three to the grant by and between the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, to provide community-based case management and probation services to children at high risk of state custody, a copy of which amendment three is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves the third amendment to a grant from the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services to the Davidson County Juvenile Court, originally approved by Resolution No. RS2018-1224. This amendment increases the grant award by $434,333, from $1,737,332 to $2,171,665, and extends the end date of the grant from June 30, 2022 to June 30, 2023. The grant budget attachment would be amended to reflect these changes.

 

This grant is used to provide community-based case management and probation services to children at high risk of state custody.
