WHEREAS, the Nashville Downtown Partnership wishes to donate equipment to the Nashville Fire Department, valued at $72,977.74, and to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, valued at $97,099.00, for the enhancement of public safety in the downtown area; and,
WHEREAS, a copy of the donation documentation is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Metropolitan Code of Laws ? 5.04.120(B), donations to departments exceeding $5,000 in value may be accepted upon approval of the Metropolitan Council by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this donation be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the donation by the Nashville Downtown Partnership, total valued at $170,076.74, to the Nashville Fire Department and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, pursuant to the donation documentation attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That the Nashville Fire Department and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is hereby authorized to accept this donation for its use and benefit.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
