A resolution approving amendment three to a grant from the Tennessee Department of Health to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to add additional Epidemiology & Laboratory Capacity (ELC) enhanced detection for COVID response.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, previously entered into a grant agreement with the Tennessee Department of Health, to prepare for, respond to, and recover from COVID-19 approved by RS2020-508; and, 

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $5,202,300.00 from $26,086,400.00 to $31,288,700.00 with no cash match required, a copy of which amendment three is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment three be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That amendment three to the grant by and between the Tennessee Department of Health and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to add additional Epidemiology & Laboratory Capacity (ELC) enhanced detection for COVID response, a copy of which amendment three is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves the third amendment to a grant from the Tennessee Department of Health to the Metropolitan Board of Health, previously approved by Resolution No. RS2020-508. This grant is used to prepare for, respond to, and recover from COVID-19.

 

This amendment increases the grant amount by $5,202,300, from $26,086,400 to $31,288,700. These funds will be used to add additional Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC) enhanced detection for COVID response.
