WHEREAS, WARN PAC and Solaren Risk Management wish to donate to the Nashville Fire Department a 2020 Ford Transit XLT 15 passenger van, valued at $62,000.00, to provide the logistical and practical means for increasing capacity and more effective delivery of emergency and non-emergency services to Nashville's residents, visitors, and commuters.; and,

WHEREAS, a copy of the donation documentation is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to Metropolitan Code of Laws § 5.04.120(B), donations to departments exceeding $5,000 in value may be accepted upon approval of the Metropolitan Council by resolution; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this donation be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the donation by WARN PAC and Solaren Risk Management to the Nashville Fire Department of a 2020 Ford Transit XLT 15 passenger van, valued at $62,000.00, pursuant to the donation documentation attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2.  That the Nashville Fire Department is hereby authorized to accept this donation for its use and benefit.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

The estimated value of this van is $62,000. The van would provide the logistical and practical means for increasing capacity and more effective delivery of emergency and non-emergency services to Nashville’s residents, visitors, and commuters. Metropolitan Code Section 5.04.120(B) allows donations exceeding $5,000 to be accepted upon approval of a resolution of the Council.
