A resolution to approve a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") between the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department ("MNPD") and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation ("TBI") for the MNPD to provide qualified officers and assist the TBI in drug overdose investigations.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, has entered into Tennessee Bureau of Investigation ("TBI"); and,
WHEREAS, the MNPD will provide qualified officers and assist the TBI in drug overdose investigations; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the MNPD and the TBI regarding participation in the Drug Overdose Task Force, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations (TBI) to provide qualified officers and assist the TBI in drug overdose investigations.
