Whereas, the Metropolitan Government plans to undertake a north-south arterial roadway project that will serve as a multimodal spine east of the Cumberland River, with the portion connecting Spring Street and Woodland Street requiring right of way acquisition; and,
Whereas, pursuant to the terms of the agreement (the “State Agreement”) attached to this Resolution as Exhibit 1, the State of Tennessee, acting through its Department of Transportation, proposes to share in the cost of such right of way acquisition; and,
WHEREAS, approval of the State Agreement would benefit the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County.
Now, therefore be it RESOLVED by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. That the State Agreement (Exhibit 1) is hereby approved, and its execution by the appropriate Metropolitan Government officers is authorized.
Section 2. Any amendments, renewals, or extension of the terms of the State Agreement may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves an intergovernmental agreement between the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and the Metropolitan Government for right of way acquisition related to a north-south arterial roadway project east of the Cumberland River between Spring Street and Woodland Street.
The expected completion date of this project is January 15, 2024. Metro is responsible for 50% of the estimated cost.
