A resolution approving an application for a Multimodal Access Grant from the Tennessee Department of Transportation to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT), to complete improvements along Charlotte Avenue from 28^th Avenue North to 39^th Avenue North to address existing pedestrian and bicycle facility gaps and other safety concerns.

WHEREAS, the Tennessee Department of Transportation is accepting applications for a Multimodal Access Grant with an award of $950,000.00 with a required cash match of $2,722,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That the Metropolitan Government’s application for a Multimodal Access Grant  with an award of $950,000.00, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure is authorized to submit said application to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

Section 2.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

If the grant application is awarded, the grant award would be $950,000 with a required local cash match of $2,722,000. The grant proceeds would be used to complete improvements along Charlotte Avenue from 28th Avenue North to 39th Avenue North to address existing pedestrian and bicycle facility gaps and other safety concerns. The term of the grant would be January 31, 2022 to January 31, 2025.
