WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County ("Metro") and the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, seeks to enter into an intergovernmental agreement to construct pedestrian signals and sidewalk improvements on Hamilton Church Road from East of State Route 1 to West of Calumet Drive, Federal Project No. HSIP-4965(10), State Project No. 19129-3201-94, PIN 125999.00; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of the agreement attached hereto, the total cost estimate of the project is approximately $1,048,860, with 90% or $943,974 of the total project cost funded by the federal government, 10% or $14,500 funded by the state government for the engineering cost, and 10% or $90,386 funded by Metro for the right-of-way and construction costs; and,
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 12-9-104(a)(2)(b), authorizes The Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County to enter into intergovernmental agreements with the State of Tennessee by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
