WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, previously entered into a grant contract with the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services to provide community-based case management and probation services to children at high risk of state custody approved by RS2018-1224; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant contract to increase the amount of the grant by $434,333.00 from $1,302,999.00 to $1,737,332.00 with no cash match required and to extend the end date of the grant to June 30, 2022, a copy of which amendment two is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,


WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment two be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That amendment two to the grant by and between the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, to provide community-based case management and probation services to children at high risk of state custody, a copy of which amendment two is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2.                     That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves amendment two to a grant from the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, to provide community-based case management and probation services to children at high risk of state custody. The original agreement was approved by RS2018-1224. This amendment would increase the grant amount by $434,333, from $1,302,999 to $1,737,332, with no local cash match required. The end date would be extended from June 30, 2021 to June 30, 2022. No other changes would be made to the grant contract.
