WHEREAS, RS2019-1594 approved of a grant contract in an amount not to exceed $95,617.00 and a required cash match of $75,887.00, between the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Water and Sewerage Services, for replacement of 130 broken and missing tree grates with flexible porous paving; and,

WHEREAS, the grant contract will expire in March 2021 and the parties wish to extend the term of the contract for one year; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Amendment 1 to the grant contract between the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Water and Sewerage Services, to extend the term of the grant contract, attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Metropolitan Nashville Water and Sewerage Services Department based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
