WHEREAS, the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee wishes to donate a trained police horses, valued at $19,300.00, to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, for the MNPD Mounted Patrol to use for law enforcement duties in Metropolitan Nashville/Davidson County; and,
WHEREAS, a copy of the donation documentation is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Metropolitan Code of Laws ? 5.04.120(B), donations to departments exceeding $7,500 in value may be accepted upon approval of the Metropolitan Council by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this donation be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the donation by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee of a trained police horse, valued at $19,300.00, to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, pursuant to the donation documentation attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is hereby authorized to accept this donation for its use and benefit.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
