An ordinance permitting the Metropolitan Tourism and Convention Commission to hold its public meetings at the offices of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Tourism and Convention Commission ("the TCC"), procured a contract with the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp ("NCVC"), to provide tourism and convention sales and marketing services ("the Contract"), a copy of which is attached to this Ordinance as Exhibit A; and,
WHEREAS, the Contract will become effective on July 1, 2022; and,
WHEREAS, Section 2.1 of the Contract explicitly permits the TCC to meet at the NCVC offices, which are located at 500 11th Avenue North, Suite 650, in Nashville; and,
WHEREAS, Metro Code Section 2.68.010(B) permits a board or commission to hold meetings in private buildings or on private property if such board or commission is specifically permitted to hold such meetings by a contract or lease agreement approved by ordinance adopted by the council; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this ordinance be approved.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That Section 2.1 of the contract between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Tourism and Convention Commission, and the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp, permitting the Commission to conduct its public meetings at NCVC office space is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
