A resolution approving Amendment 1 to a Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) grant agreement between the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and the Metropolitan Government, by and through the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT), to extend the term of the agreement.

WHEREAS, RS2022-1654 approved an application for a CMAQ grant from the United States Department of Transportation and authorized the acceptance of the CMAQ grant through an intergovernmental agreement between TDOT and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through NDOT, for the acceptance of work to implement the Nashville Connector: Transportation Demand Management Center ("the Grant Agreement"); and,
WHEREAS, as set forth in Amendment 1, attached here, the parties wish to amend the Grant Agreement to extend the termination date from July 16, 2025 to September 30, 2026; and,
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 12-9-104(a)(2)(b), authorizes the Metropolitan Government to enter into intergovernmental agreements with the State of Tennessee by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, RS2022-1654 authorized amendments to the Grant Agreement by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that Amendment 1 to the Grant Agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That Amendment 1 to the grant agreement by and between the Tennessee Department of Transportation and the Metropolitan Government, by and through the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
