WHEREAS, Substitute Ordinance No. BL2024-373 appropriated $20,000 of funds to the Health Department for a grant to the Pet Community Center; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, wishes to enter into a grant contract with Pet Community Center for the provision of spay and neutering services; and,   

WHEREAS, Metropolitan Charter Section 10.104 provides that the Board of Health has the duty to contract for such services as will further the program and policies of the board, subject to confirmation by Resolution of Council.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1.                     That the grant contract by and between the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, and Pet Community Center for the provision of spay and neutering services, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2.  That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

This resolution approves a grant contract between the Metropolitan Board of Health and the Pet Community Center to provide spay and neutering services.

 

The grant amount is $20,000, which was the amount of Health Department funds for a grant to the Pet Community Center appropriated by Substitute Ordinance No. BL2024-373, the operating budget. The grant term will begin on the date the contract is filed with the Metropolitan Clerk and will conclude on June 30, 2025. Pet Community Center may be reimbursed for services provided beginning July 1, 2024.
