A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement between the State of Tennessee Department of Transportation ("TDOT") and the Metropolitan Government, by and through the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure ("NDOT"), for the maintenance of traffic control devices in connection with TDOT's roadway improvement project on Old Hickory Boulevard, from Brick Church Pike to Dickerson Pike. WHEREAS, TDOT plans to construct a road improvement project on Old Hickory Boulevard, from Brick Church Pike to Dickerson Pike, to replace signage, widen existing shoulders, replace culverts, and improve safety features; and,
WHEREAS, as described in the agreement attached hereto in duplicate as Exhibit A and incorporated by reference herein, the Metropolitan Government, by and through NDOT, agrees to cooperate with TDOT so that said construction can occur; and,
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated section 12-9-104(a)(2)(b), authorizes the Metropolitan Council to approve intergovernmental agreements by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCEL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement between the State of Tennessee Department of Transportation, and the Metropolitan Government, by and through the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure, attached hereto in duplicate as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
