A resolution approving a grant agreement for an Active Transportation Infrastructure Investment Program (ATIIP) grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, acting by and through the Federal Highway Administration, to the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Nashville Department of Transportation & Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT), to address critical barriers to mobility and economic vitality by integrating dedicated bikeways and pedestrian pathways to ensure safe, seamless travel for all residents of Davidson County, Agreement No. ATII-26-0005-TN, (Proposal No. 2026M-052AG-001).

WHEREAS, as set forth in the grant agreement attached hereto and incorporated by reference, NDOT and USDOT seek to enter into an agreement for the design and construction of the East Nashville Spokes project, and;
WHEREAS, RS2024-630 approved the Active Transportation Investment Program application, and;
WHEREAS, the East Nashville Spokes project is eligible for federal participation under the Active Transportation Infrastructure Investment Program, and leveraging “Choose How You Move” revenues as the local match which allows Metro Nashville to maximize federal investment; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment two be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement between the United States Department of Transportation, acting by and through the Federal Highway Administration, and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure, attached hereto and incorporated by reference, is hereby approved, and that the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
