A resolution recognizing the 75th anniversary of Bar-B-Cutie SmokeHouse.

WHEREAS, in 1950, the first Bar-B-Cutie SmokeHouse opened in Nashville as a car-hop business with four dine-in tables; and
WHEREAS, Eddie and Mildred McFarland operated the business for decades, setting up a restaurant that would become a multi-generational family business; and
WHEREAS, Ronnie McFarland, the son of the original owners, took over the restaurants in 1978 upon the retirement of his parents. He now leads the business with his wife Annie and his oldest son Brett; and
WHEREAS, Bar-B-Cutie quickly expanded to accommodate more guests at its locations on Nolensville Pike and Donelson Pike; and
WHEREAS, in the seven and a half decades since it first opened, Bar-B-Cutie still aims to provide great food and Southern hospitality thanks to its loyal customers and hardworking team members; and
WHEREAS, Bar-B-Cutie now has five locations in Tennessee, three locations in Texas, and one location in Georgia; and
WHEREAS, Bar-B-Cutie plans to celebrate its 75 years of operation in June 2025 and hold a formal celebration on June 27; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper for the Metropolitan Council to recognize Bar-B-Cutie SmokeHouse for its decades of meals, service, and community support that it has provided to Nashville and Davidson County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Bar-B-Cutie SmokeHouse for its 75 years of operation in Nashville and Davidson County.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
