WHEREAS, Section 7-3-314 of the Tennessee Code Annotated states that metropolitan forms of government may provide financial assistance to nonprofit organizations in accordance with the guidelines of the Metropolitan Government; and,
WHEREAS, Section 5.04.070 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws provides that the Council may, by Resolution, appropriate funds for the financial aid of nonprofit organizations; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Office of Homeless Services, previously entered into a grant agreement with Safe Haven Family Shelter for the provision of hotel rooms across the Nashville area for emergency alternative shelter for families with minor children, approved by RS2024-412; and,
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to increase the contract value by $400,000, for a revised contract total of $836,400, and extend the term of the contract for 12 months, for a revised contract term of 24 months, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these funds be appropriated to Safe Haven Family Shelter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
