A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement between the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation ("TDOT"), and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure ("NDOT"), for the maintenance and operation of traffic safety improvements installed by TDOT on State Route 12 at Old Hickory Boulevard. WHEREAS, as set forth in the general maintenance agreement ("the Agreement"), attached hereto as Exhibit A, TDOT desires to assist NDOT by installing various traffic safety improvements, including signs, snowplowable markers, reflectors, chevrons, thermoplastic white and yellow lines, and guardrails ("Safety Improvements"), on certain designated routes within Metro, in furtherance of the federal Highway Safety Improvement Project; and
WHEREAS, as set forth in the Agreement, NDOT recognizes the benefits of these Safety Improvements and wishes to cooperate with TDOT by maintaining and operating certain Safety Improvements installed by TDOT on State Route 12 at Old Hickory Boulevard; and,
WHEREAS, Tenn. Code. Ann. ? 12-9-104(a)(2)(b) authorizes the Metropolitan Council to approve intergovernmental agreements by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
