A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement by and between the State of Tennessee, Nashville State Community College ("NSCC"), and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through Nashville Public Library ("NPL"), for the lease of studio space at NSCC.

WHEREAS, as set forth in the agreement attached hereto, NPL and NSCC seek to enter into a lease agreement for studio space at NSCC for use by the Nashville Education, Community, and Arts Television ("NECAT") Network for Public, Educational, and Government programming; and,
WHEREAS, NECAT exposes Davidson County residents to arts and education programming created both locally and around the world, and teaches individuals and organizations who wish to make TV shows how to do so, lets them use NECAT equipment and resources, and then NECAT broadcasts those shows for them; and,
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated ? 12-9-104(a)(2)(b) authorizes the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to enter into agreements with the State of Tennessee by resolution; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the intergovernmental lease agreement between the State of Tennessee, Nashville State Community College, and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Nashville Public Library, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. Any amendments, renewals, or extension of the terms of the agreement may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council.
