WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Office of Emergency Management, previously entered into a grant agreement with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for equipment to enhance current land based and maritime response capabilities approved by RS2021-1151; and,
WHEREAS, the parties wish to extend the end date of the grant from August 31, 2024 to February 28, 2025; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment one be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That amendment one to the Port Security grant by and between the U. S. Department of Homeland Security and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Office of Emergency Management, for equipment to enhance current land based and maritime response capabilities, a copy of which amendment one is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
