A resolution recognizing the 20th anniversary of the Southeast Nashville Egg Hunt & Festival Event.

WHEREAS, in 2004, former Metro Nashville Council Member and former Public Schools board member Karen Y. Johnson started a small, community egg hunt; and
WHEREAS, today, the Southeast Nashville Egg Hunt & Festival Event (“SEE”) is held at the Southeast Community Center Park and has grown to over 7,000 attendees each year; and
WHEREAS, the SEE is an all-day event planned by a group of community leaders. Egg hunts are held for all ages, and the event also hosts vendor booths, a character parade, live entertainment, inflatables, and special prizes; and
WHEREAS, leaders in government, schools, religious organizations, and the community come together to provide this day of fund for residents of the growing multi-cultural community in Southeast Nashville; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize the 20th anniversary of the Southeast Nashville Egg Hunt & Festival Event.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the 20th anniversary of the Southeast Nashville Egg Hunt & Festival Event.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
